Co-supervises the workshop to ensure that trucks are quickly repaired and availed to the Fleet Managers in time.


General Responsibilities


  1. Advise truck availability and location.

  2. Ensure trucks/drivers adhere to loading schedules(physical commanding of drivers to drive out of BUTO)

  3. Monitor loaded trucks movement for safety; on-time service and adherence to customer requirements through availing accurate information to customer interfacing staff

  4. Checks and substantiates MM’s daily report, follow up and support coordination of maintenance work to minimize downtime in direct liaison with Maintenance Team, Inventory department and TD…Additionally  proactively push for truck to be  fixed  faster.

  5. Go out to the field and manage/supervise ERP and road calls

  6. Perform administrative function, eg driver orientation and counselling, dispute resolution, continuous briefing to drivers to maintain company safety and professional culture through daily and monthly briefings (TBM).

  7. Fill in for  the Fleet Managers in instances of being off duty  and vice versa

  8. Sending daily and periodic reports, capturing as a minimum route surveys, trip reports, driver/trucker performance and efficiency.

  9.  Emergency response planning and coordination, accident investigations, other adhoc reports of technical nature to assist management in taking corrective actions. Handling Insurance claims with police reports in liaison with Insurance broker.

  10. Monitor assigned drivers for compliance with statutory and company requirements including EHS, Permits, Medical, Alcohol-abuse.

  11. Check and confirm that drivers/trucks leave with mandatory documents valid driving permit, copy of log books, comesa/insurance, driver rules, signed JMP.. after which are handed over to IOV for filing and storage

  6. Ensure the drivers follow rules spelt out in the company manuals and any issues resulting from non-adherence are corrected immediately.

  7. Continuity in absence of Fleet Managers is achieved

  8. Timely delivery of required reports to different users of same reports- management

  9. How fast crisis is remedied which requires quick thinking and problem resolution

  10. Reduction in bad incidences in relation to meeting compliance standards.

  11. Zero incidences of drivers being caught without  required documents.
